Wikipedia says that solarpunk is an art movement that envisions how the future might look if humanity succeeded in solving major contemporary challenges with an emphasis on sustainability problems such as climate change, pollution, and social inequality.
The aesthetics of environmental optimism have always appealed to us, and on this episode we discussed the themes, merits, and real-life manifestations of ‘solarpunk’. We compared it to other Internet subcultures like cottagecore and dark academia to strategize its growth, as well as discussed its emphasis on politics and architecture rather than the individual.
This was a lively discussion on a topic that is near to the heart of this podcast- solutions for the social and environmental issues of modernity. Enjoy!
